Giving Back to Local Communities

Hilti team members have always shown great compassion by contributing to the communities they live and work in. As a socially responsible company, Hilti wants to support and encourage this commitment with its Engaged Beyond Business corporate volunteering program. Founded jointly with the Hilti Foundation in 2020, its mission is clear: to provide every single Hilti team member around the world with the opportunity to participate in charitable initiatives beyond our business.  

If each of our about 34,000 Hilti employees worked for just one day a year on a charitable project, it would result in around 160 full-time years of work – this is the vision of our corporate volunteering program.   

A chance for everyone to volunteer

Volunteering at Hilti can be as diverse as our teams themselves. There are a variety of programs that cater to every type of engagement. We encourage hands-on involvement, supporting projects on site by means of technical or practical activities. We encourage skills-based involvement, where team members support projects with their professional know-how and expertise. And we encourage team-led donation and fundraising activities. Many of our programs are run locally and focus on causes in the communities where our team members live and work. Hilti team members get paid time off to volunteer for the causes of interest to them, or they can join one of Hilti’s pre-organized social impact events. To round it all off, the Hilti Foundation – based on its long-standing experience in the sector – has selected partnerships with organizations and offers international projects in which our teams can participate. Moreover, in certain emergency situations, we also run global fundraising campaigns across the entire Hilti Group.
